Is there anything more sentimental than a father/daughter portrait on her wedding day? Here, my DBF Jon poses for a photo op.

A bit formidable
This chain fence surrounded the cavalry parade grounds near Trafalgar Square in London. I used a small aperture (f/5) to put the foreground in focus and let the background fall off into a gentle blur.

A single, solitary pigeon
One brave pigeon sits in isolation and contemplates the wise words of William Shakespeare from a unique perspective. Captured this shot in London's Leicester Square.

It's all about the women
This statue, not far from Trafalgar Square in London, commemorates the various roles women held during World War II.

A most common English structure
Took a trip to London back in April. Still sorting through some of those shots as time permits. Came across a pair of these famous structures in Leicester square.

Mongo, massive! redux
A bit of Topaz Adjust Spicify pops the colors on this massive semi truck, shot out the window on a Labor Day trip to Wisconsin. (No, I was not driving...)

As American as...
apple pie! This yummy treat is a delicious example of monochrome food - the crust, apples and filling are all the same luscious golden color. Credit for baking goes to my local apple orchard. Credit for eating goes to Jon and me.

Hmmmm....
This license plate cracked me up, so I snapped a shot of it through the (passenger) window of the car as we drove along the highway.
What surprised me most was that the driver was a man!

Mongo, massive!
I took many photos of elephants during a day trip to the Atlanta zoo over the summer, but I see I never posted any of them. This is my favorite, and definitely fits the theme of massive! To stay cool, the elephants had rolled in the red dust in their pen. I used Topaz Adjust - Clarity - to bring out the depth and texture in their wrinkles. Amazing animals.

Trapped
This interesting sight, a truck trapped in the "v" of a tree, entertains motorists on Interstate 43 between Beloit and Milwaukee Wisconsin.

So long...
As I slowly (and I thought, stealthily) approached the flock of geese depicted in the photo from yesterday, they caught sight of me and took off, virtually in one big cluster.
I think my career aspirations as a spy have been put on hold...

A single, solitary heron . . .
. . . amidst a flock of Canadian Geese. What was he thinking, I wonder?
I used my Sports mode on this, and the camera overexposed the heron just a bit. I took mattafoto's advice from the last bird shot and burned the beak and other high-lit spots in this image. I think it was an improvement - so thanks for the idea! :-)
