Lest we forget . . .

I drive past this little Veteran's Memorial Park on my way to and from work, and finally decided to stop and check it out. There's an active National Guard unit near my school and it's not unusual for students - or even some of our staff - to be called up. This memorial has a wall for each branch of the service, plaques remembering fallen soldiers from the area, and full-size military equipment, such as this tank. While I was there, a couple of other people stopped to pay their respects, admire the display, and reflect.

  1. Nice picture. I love the tank with the flags surrounding it. Our veterans can't be recognized enough for all they have done for this country.

  3. Heather - yes, it is. I'm always surprised by the colors in the pictures from this little P&S camera because in the sunshine, the LCD is so washed out. It's like a little surprise, putting the card in the computer and seeing what the photo really looks like! :-D
