Blossom

Walking through a nearby forest preserve after dinner last night, we came upon this bed of interesting plants. Each leafy green, umbrella-shaped plant carefully protected a single white blossom. It was quite windy, and I had to sit patiently until the plant was still enough to take this photo. Processed using Topaz Adjust, added a vignette in Photoshop, and dodged the flower somewhat to brighten it up. Does anyone know what this is?

  1. No, but how beautiful! I love the leaves hovering over it as to protect it! A nice capture Val!

  2. These hidden jems are bashful about being identified. I don't know either, but it surely is a cute little blossom

  7. I don't know what it is--but I do love the lighting and the way you've captured all those fine veins on the leaves.
