Lightness

Theme stretch. During our visit to the northern shore of Lake Superior in Minnesota, we stopped to visit two lighthouses. The interiors from the last two days were posted from the Split Rock lighthouse, which is shown below. Classic setting, beautiful day.

Earlier that same day, we stopped by the Two Harbors lighthouse. We didn't go in this one, but enjoyed exploring the rocky shore upon which it was perched.

In the darkness, these lighthouses provided lightness for passing ships.

  1. Those lights look pretty heavy to me.

  4. Classic is the right word, especially for that top one--perched there on that outcropping, you can just imagine it being vigilant.

  5. Classic beauty! I have fond memories of taking the circle tour of Lake Superior as a child and again a young bride.

  6. The top shot is just classic of a lighthouse out there on that rocky perch. And that bottom one is pure celebration! Fantastic brilliant colors!

  9. That top image is just so classic. Lighthouses don't get any better than this.
