Utilities

This drainage ditch in my neighborhood reroutes water during heavy rains. The homeowner in whose side yard the ditch and culvert reside allows wild grasses and reeds to grow along its banks. I occasionally see ducks floating in the water. I wish all city utilities were this attractive.

  5. The growth provides an extra filter it seems, and a safe place for wildlife.

  8. A great idea......without your inclusion of the pipe, wouldn't know it was there!

  9. Nice leading line. I'd have liked a slightly straighter horizon. But that's just me. Nice shot.

  21. Nice to see a natural waterway as Mother Nature intended with the tall grasses moderating water flow and filtering the runoff.
