This little playground behind our college is not just abandonded for the winter. The in-house day care program was discontinued, so this bright, inviting area won't be in use come spring, either.
In the meanwhile, there may be other day care centers out there that, due to the current economy, who cannot afford playground equipment. Let them donate this to some needy person or park or . . . This will give them a write off on their taxes - which will help with their current money flow problems. Oh, maybe colleges don't pay taxes?
How sad to think of all the little kids that won't get to play on such a nice playground.
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame. It looks like such a fun place for little ones.
ReplyDeleteSadly abandoned is right. Another sad reminder of the current economic situation.
ReplyDeleteMilitance has it's merits, get into the authities ear and agitate - I learned that at Sesame St. and the letters was S and the number 8. Go Gettem.
ReplyDeleteThat playground looks so sad without the kids! Hopefully it will be bought! Even with the economics the way they are, everyone still needs daycares!
ReplyDeleteMaybe the faculty and staff should get out there and use it in the spring. It might be good for our sanity! :)
ReplyDeleteNow that's thinking, Heather! :-D

ReplyDeleteGood bright colors made sad by the situation.
That's a shame, it's such a cool looking playground.
ReplyDeleteHope it doesn't stay abandoned til it's no longer usable. Surely someone wants such a lovely play land.

What a waste, when so many kids could use a safe place to play. Nice shot for the theme!
ReplyDeleteGood take on the theme. Have you noticed the stories we all have to go with our pictures make the pictures so much better. This is definitely a keeper
ReplyDeleteVery sad....even the little ones have to suffer. Great colors in the photo!
