In the public gardens on the grounds of the Art Institute, we found these beds of amazing white and purple flowers, standing tall in the spring sunshine. If there was a sign giving their names, we missed it. Anyone?
Pretty sure they are allium. I was just requesting that my gardening husband put some in because they look to be such a great photo subject (as you've demonstrated). Apparently they are a fall-planting bulb.
Don't know the flower but they are pretty and you captured them well with the buildings in the back
ReplyDeleteAre they allium?
ReplyDeleteNice image.

ReplyDeleteThey ARE allium - two different kinds (from my Google search, anyway). Thanks, Jo and Julie!
ReplyDeleteThat is such a European photo...are you sure you didn't leave the country!
ReplyDeleteWhat a good eye! Love the perspective on this shot!
ReplyDeleteGorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWe have those here too - only in the spring - but I don't know what they are called - they are beautiful though!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great photo and I love the combination of the flowers and building. Good job.
ReplyDeleteIt does look European - nice composition
ReplyDeleteBeautiful shot!! I love the alliums.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, I love the angle you chose. One thing about Richie is that since he's been mayor the flowers on Michigan Ave. have been knockouts!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty flowers.
