Grumpy, or creepy?

The bookstore manager at school has this creepy-grumpy looking poster hanging up for Halloween across the hall from where this stairway door lets out. Coming down, this face greets you through the window in the stairwell door.

I had a heck of a time trying to get my camera to capture what my eye sees. The poster is probably 3 feet beyond the window in the door. The face was too dark and I couldn't get my camera to focus on the face and throw the foreground into blur. A flash, of course, lit up the door like a Christmas tree and made for a solid black image in the window. I ended up shooting the door, then going out into the hallway to shoot the face, then combining the images in PSE. The image below is a pretty good representation of what you see when you stand in the stairway, looking through the glass at that icky face!

  1. Think I would complain. They tell us we cannot have Christmas, Easter, or any other religious days. Halloween started off as a religious day. Here in the USA, we have turned it into a commercial day. I would think that Halloween has no place in the schools. Now, Harvest Festival is something different. But no ghoulish figures.

The things we do to get our photo! lol You did a good job.

  2. I'm thinking the total opposite of Iona! I think it's fun to get in the spirit of annual events/traditions! Oh, and it fit your grumpy theme, so I wouldn't complain at all! : )

  7. Your hard work paid off! If you didn't tell us, I don't think we'd know it was 2 photos. Nicely done.
