Illinois prairie sunset (worth a peek) . . .

Driving to Champaign, IL, by myself last weekend, I was bored. This glorious sunset was unfolding over my right shoulder. I tried rolling down the back window and just clicking, but, as you might guess, the shots were blurry. I couldn't stand it any more and finally pulled over on I-55 and took a half-dozen shots with my litte Pentax. This is straight out of the camera - no PS tweaking. Wowser, was it pretty!!!

    Not sure where you were to take this shot, but it appears when I first look at it as if you were above the clouds or something. Its one of those pictures that is like an optical illusion. It appears different ways. Great job!

    That is beautiful. Illinois has the most beautiful sunsets. And it's good to know that sometimes nature out does photoshop!

    Ahhh - sunsets are high on my list of all favorite shots. You took advantage of what Nature had to offer and it turned out grand with great colors. I agree with top5cats. It reminds me of a sunset photo I took while flying home from Hawaii. Since that was my first sunset while enplaned, it was odd seeing the clouds beneath the sun instead of above it. And this photo has the same feeling to it.

    Well that's set the bar pretty high for a sunset photo for the rest of it. That is the most stunning blend of colours. Good on you for pulling over to capture such magnificance.
