Isn't that one of the most amazing things about being out in the wilderness? I can still remember the first wilderness skies I saw when I was about 7 years old and backpacking in Yosemite. An astonishing view.....
Growin up in NYC, I never could understand the way people talked about stars. I'd read about God promising Abraham that his descendents would be an numerous as the stars in the sky, and I'd think, "What? 15? Big deal!" the first time I saw a REAL starry sky, I was 14, and the fact that there were layers upon layers of them and that they were truly uncountable blew my mind. Your photo brought me back to that moment.
Wonderful Sky Scape
ReplyDeleteIt is amazing what you can see when you are away from city lights.
