Mongo, massive!

I took many photos of elephants during a day trip to the Atlanta zoo over the summer, but I see I never posted any of them. This is my favorite, and definitely fits the theme of massive! To stay cool, the elephants had rolled in the red dust in their pen. I used Topaz Adjust - Clarity - to bring out the depth and texture in their wrinkles. Amazing animals.

  1. I love the unusual perspective here...it really shows off the textures...topaz is great for that!

  2. Your at the wrong end if they gave Mongo more Beans (No Beans for Mongo) but the skin texture is superb, although for me, a couple of hours staring into an Elephants Eyes is a real learning experience, so deeeeep!

  3. That is a great shot. The shallowish dof really enhances it.

  5. That fits a Texture theme too - you can just reach out and feel all those wrinkles. Nice capture!

  10. I've enver seen such a wonderful picture of elephants before. It's all about the texture and the dusty color--one can just sense their wise ponderous presence.
