This drainage ditch in my neighborhood reroutes water during heavy rains. The homeowner in whose side yard the ditch and culvert reside allows wild grasses and reeds to grow along its banks. I occasionally see ducks floating in the water. I wish all city utilities were this attractive.
Nice image...like the line of the drain running through, leading your eye through the picture
ReplyDeleteI like the way the lines lead into the distance.
ReplyDeleteYep Gotta let Nature handle difficulties for us.
ReplyDeleteThat definitely is not an eye sore...like how they kept it's nature surroundings..
ReplyDeleteThe growth provides an extra filter it seems, and a safe place for wildlife.
ReplyDeleteThere's a definite trend toward more natural handling of run off water and this is a good thing!
ReplyDeleteI am with Tammy, seems to me a very attractive method, too.
ReplyDeleteA great idea......without your inclusion of the pipe, wouldn't know it was there!
ReplyDeleteNice leading line. I'd have liked a slightly straighter horizon. But that's just me. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteM.
Nice that is disguised so well with wild grasses!! It makes great leading lines!!
ReplyDeleteIt makes a great leading line with a great disappearing point, Val. Good eye.
ReplyDeleteThis drain area would be a frequent stop by if it were in my neighborhood. Love the pic.
ReplyDeleteNice angle and perspective. And, indeed, a quite nice draining place. :)
ReplyDeleteGreat leading lines
ReplyDeletea nice perspective on this theme ;-)
ReplyDeleteOur utilities should be so nice. I too like how the line of the drainage brings one through the photo.
ReplyDeleteWhaT they said! - especially about the lines.
ReplyDeleteHi Val,
ReplyDeleteNice picture! Like the little curve in the line. Have a great day!

I love the tufts of grass between the mowed areas. Very pleasing to look at. Nice capture of the theme.
ReplyDeleteThose leading lines are just great, Val! I love that the drainage hasn't been fenced off and cemented in!
ReplyDeleteNice to see a natural waterway as Mother Nature intended with the tall grasses moderating water flow and filtering the runoff.
ReplyDeleteThis is a cool thing. I like the idea of an ecosystem that exists in this ribbon of urban landscape.
ReplyDeleteDitto to all that! Neat photo. Post more when the ducks show up. ;)
