Over Easter weekend, Jon and I flew to Arizona and spent a few days hiking and visiting family. About 2 hours from Phoenix is the Kofa National Wildlife Refuge. We found isolation and quiet away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city on a hike up into Palm Canyon.
Fantastic scene . . . but it looks very difficult to hike :)
ReplyDeletelovely photo with such rich colours
ReplyDeleteI am not sure, but that resembles the pass in an Audie Murphy western in which Tony Curtis had his first speaking role as Anthony Curtis. He said "Pa we can cur rhem off at the Pass"! and it looked a lot like that!
ReplyDeleteHi Val,

ReplyDeleteClassic scenery from the southwest--stark but compelling.
ReplyDeleteQuite a different playground from the one in your previous post. Variety is the spice of life!
ReplyDeleteI would imagine standing there would certainly make you feel "isolated"....interesting reading about the California palms...
ReplyDeleteGreat view, I really like how the stream of clouds are in the middle!

I love the contrast of the canyon walls in sun and in shadow. While lots of places are screaming spring green the desert is more subtle.
ReplyDeleteDon't you just love the southwest? Well, except for the politics and the wacky governor! ;-)
