"Swirled" for 100 points

Wow - I got blindsided by that word! Scrabble is one of our favorite games. It entertains us on cold winter weekends.

I was feeling a little smug, having played "jape", when Jon plopped down "swirled". By adding on to my word, hitting the Triple word square in the middle of the board, and using all his letters, he ended up with a 100 point word. My head was swirling!

The board was actually pointing to my right when I took this photo, but I rotated it for the blog post. Kind of looks like the letters might slide off the screen!

  1. Great catch for the theme! You just never know when a theme will present itself--gotta keep that camera handy!

  2. Nice use of the theme! And I love the way you shot the photo; it does look like the tiles are clinging and ready to slide down the board!

  6. Sally is a scrabble-a-holic and I have been throwing words around the board trying to come up with this for theme, and all I can say is "Curse - Foiled again" to quote Oil Can Harry. Great Take.

  7. I'm playing catchup on your last 6 posts!!

You have quite a talented Scrabble board that holds those letters oris it glue!! I have a picture in my mind of you lying sideways on the table with your face smushed into the camera!!

  8. Mary Lou...you are so funny. Actually the original picture was rotated 90 degrees to the left (we had the board set up so I had all the letters facing to my right). When I rotated it in PS, I liked the look of them almost sliding off the screen...so I left it.

  11. This is great Val. Good theme application, the rotation on the image is perfect for it, and nowhere on the board is "abraise". (Nicely done on Jape though!)

  14. Wonderful shot, there must be magnetic Scrabble boards out there some place. Seems to be lots of fans of the game in the 365ers, I think maybe Madelaine cheats though ;-)
