Thinking about Thanksgiving

In a moment of (insanity??) generosity, I volunteered to cook the Thanksgiving turkey for the gathering that is traditionally held at the home of one of Jon's many relatives. I haven't cooked any poultry larger than a grilled chicken breast in years. To get ready for this endeavor (which will occur the day before...and should I have a trial turkey before that???) I had to purchase some new cookery. At least that part was fun!

  1. All I can say is SUCKER! LOL Buying the stuff is a lot of fun, it's the cleaning up the mess after using the new stuff which is not so much fun! :)

  2. Could be a lot worse, Val; we have to KILL our Thanksgiving turkey. And clean it. My sister raises them and we help with the, er, harvest each fall.

And, yes, I highly recommend a pre-T-Day trial run. You can always debone the cooked meat and freeze it for casseroles and such.

  3. Let's skip going to Lorri's until after Thanksgiving. My Mom's neighbor works on the Butterball Turkey hot-line...

  5. I like the comntrasting lines and angles--the tiles and the grate. B&W works well with these graphic elements.

  6. What were you thinking? Well, it'll be fun (and at least you don't have to kill the turkey!).
