. . . the lifelong learning experience, that is. My classroom doesn't have chalkboards. I have a wall of whiteboards instead. So, this photo is a quasi-substitution for theme 46, chalkboards.
As an instructor I swear that chalk beats white board hands down even if messy. Get in there with PS and scrawl " The Teecha is meen" or some such on the board.
I have chalk boards in my classroom, so I posted a chalk board pic, recently, but I like white boards, too. I'll be holding out for Heather's tablet PC. With the budget crises in CA, that might be a long time.
I went from chalkboards to whiteboards to smart boards in my career as a teacher. In answer to Heather's comment, that's exactly what we have now with smart boards. They are interactive white boards that you can use with a laptop.
I noticed the boy's high school doesn't use chalk boards anymore either! Who would have thought?
ReplyDeleteSoon, 'chalkboards' will be Tablet PC's projected onto a screen or projected directly to every student's computer!

ReplyDeleteI like the subject matter on your whiteboard, too! Nice picture...
ReplyDeleteI guess the real classroom chalkboards are becoming a rarity. Nice shot of your substitute board...
