Bounds

This cute little beagle lives down the street from me. Whenever she sees me walking, she bounds over to bark and wag her tail. She knows her manners, though; she never leaves the bounds of her yard - I think my neighbors have one of those buried electric fences. She doesn't sneak out the end of the driveway, either.

I tried cropping this several ways, but in the end, left her off-center so I could include her shadow.

  1. I like beagles, more so if they keep their barking to a minimum! I don't see a shock thing on her collar, so maybe she just knows her turf and minds it.

  2. Most Young Dogs can be taught Border Lines in three days with persistence and consistancy. The trick is to let them know that WITH You those bounds vanish!. The Shadow is a winner.

  4. Very intelligent dogs...the positioning is ace...shame we cant see the whole shadow but looks like it would be quite long in that low sun

  7. I can't explain why, but I think that having her off center that way increases the sense of energy in the photo.

  8. She is such a cutie. We used to have beagles when I was growing up. The long shadow is nice.

  10. I have a little Yorkie and he knows his 'boundaries' no electricity necessary, dogs know if they've had good instruction, lovely photo and I prefer the dog off center.

  14. Off-center is very appropriate for this image, love it like it is. And do love Beagles, too. There was a time when Beagles were trendy here with us, but now they are only rarely to be seen.

  15. Happy looking pup, the long shadow is likely how big it thinks it is.
