This cute little beagle lives down the street from me. Whenever she sees me walking, she bounds over to bark and wag her tail. She knows her manners, though; she never leaves the bounds of her yard - I think my neighbors have one of those buried electric fences. She doesn't sneak out the end of the driveway, either.
I tried cropping this several ways, but in the end, left her off-center so I could include her shadow.
I like beagles, more so if they keep their barking to a minimum! I don't see a shock thing on her collar, so maybe she just knows her turf and minds it.
ReplyDeleteMost Young Dogs can be taught Border Lines in three days with persistence and consistancy. The trick is to let them know that WITH You those bounds vanish!. The Shadow is a winner.
ReplyDeleteShe looks great standing off to one side, she has an intelligent looking face.
ReplyDeleteVery intelligent dogs...the positioning is ace...shame we cant see the whole shadow but looks like it would be quite long in that low sun
ReplyDeleteNice puppy portrait . . . I like the shadow.
ReplyDeleteHi Val,
ReplyDeleteGreat shot, she looks happy to see you walking by. Have a great day!
Sherrie
I can't explain why, but I think that having her off center that way increases the sense of energy in the photo.
ReplyDeleteShe is such a cutie. We used to have beagles when I was growing up. The long shadow is nice.
ReplyDeleteIf that cutie greeted me every morning I'd have a big smile...Love that happy face!
ReplyDeleteI have a little Yorkie and he knows his 'boundaries' no electricity necessary, dogs know if they've had good instruction, lovely photo and I prefer the dog off center.
ReplyDeleteNice image works well with the square crop!
ReplyDeleteLove the shot with a hint of the shadow included!
ReplyDeleteYour cropping is great...the shadow really adds to the composition.
ReplyDeleteOff-center is very appropriate for this image, love it like it is. And do love Beagles, too. There was a time when Beagles were trendy here with us, but now they are only rarely to be seen.
ReplyDeleteHappy looking pup, the long shadow is likely how big it thinks it is.
