Design

A lot of thought went into the design of this staircase that allows visitors to Starved Rock State Park in Illinois to move from the edge of the Illinois River, to the Bluff trail high atop the sandstone cliffs that make up the park. Taking a photo is a great excuse to pause on the way up.

  1. Love the leading line of the steps . . . the Bluff trail must be very high above the river.

  3. I sure wouldn't want to lose my footing on the descent, as you would probably end up in the river. Cool lines that take you to the water.

  10. I like the lines too, it reminds me of a set of stairs in BC Canada on the West Coast, a lot a lot of work and so deserving of this lovely photo
