One of my favorite summer activities is hiking. This trail, in Peninsula State Park in Door County, WI, offered a cool place to hike on a hot summer day.
About your grandfather and swimming the Connecticut River--I'll bet he was swimming to the quarry in Portland. It was abandoned in the 1800s, filled with water and was a very popular swimming hole where kids would jump off the steep cliff-like sides into the water. A few years ago, it was bought by someone who turned it into an adventure park with cliff climbing/jumping, zip-lining, kayaking and of course, swimming. My younger daughter is (with much moaning and complaining) working there this summer.
Hi Val, Beautiful! Looks like Mother Nature's air conditioning is working. Thanks for all the Depth of Field info. Greatly appreciate it. Have a great day!
I love woodlands Val. I particularly love the lighting you get, which you've captured very well.

I can just feel the cooler air as on steps into the shade of the large trees. Love the line-up of trunks on the righthand side.
ReplyDeleteSorry for misspelling "one" in my post as it makes no sense as is ...my proofing is bad today!
ReplyDeleteNice dappled light here Val!
ReplyDeleteGreat use of shadows. The dappled light is great.
ReplyDeleteI love how the trail leads us through those beautiful trees and lighting. Looks like the perfect place to be in 95+ degrees! :)
ReplyDeleteI love how inviting this is. You nailed the tricky to me dappled light exposure. Did you see my cousin Trish ;-)
