They don't make 'em like they used to

Having a fancy hood ornament on your car is a thing of the past.

  1. A true classic...I love the highlights you captured in the ornament, very classy!

  2. I like the way you framed the hood ornament with just a hint of the remainder of the car. Nice colors and highlights.

  3. looks very nice and shining with the light and focus on the pretty ornament. I think Rolly Royce still have ornaments. Mercedes had it some years ago but I remember it was "popular" to break them :-(

  5. And practical too! Seen from the driver's seat there is a thermometer that reads the temperature of your radiator water.

Find that on a $104k Jaguar! A gauge? Really?? Well, never mind then. ;-)

  6. Hi Val,
Yea, it's differently something you don't see much anymore. I love the colors in this shot. Have a great day!

  9. Not, they don't. To me, the coolest one was on the DeSoto. The guy across the street from me when I was growing up hqad one. the car was read and white, and the hood ornament was head of the Spanish explorer, helmet and all.

  10. That wouldn't last a day out on the streets these days. Someone would steal it and then wear it around their neck like Flavor Flav wears his clock!

  11. you have done very beautiful photos around the "car", they underline that a car is not only a vehicle to from here to there, but a car is nearly a work of art.
