Little finches have been visiting our feeders all winter. This one is maturing, starting to fill in with the pretty gold feathers that give him his name.

I am just beginning to get my finches back after the long winter...I love these little happy birds (at least that is how they make me feel) and you captured this guy perfectly...you gave me my smile for the day!
So that's what they look like as juveniles. I had some adults pass through last month. So pretty!! You captured a lot of personality in this little guy. Nice shot!
I love goldfinches - they are such a cheery little bird. You've captured this one well.

ReplyDeleteBut it's a likely twofer with the photo theme.
Flocks of these are a real sight. Great Portrait.

ReplyDeleteSweet shot of a cheery bird indeed. Sorry to hear about the new snow.

ReplyDeleteGorgeous portrait! One can make out every feather!
ReplyDeleteSince the only birds we feed are hummers, it is good to see another type in your lens.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful - great detail
