Lois, we enjoy this place. Jon counted 35 different species of birds during our 3-hour visit (we went to the south visitor's center, and up more north, off Highway 49, to the boardwalk overlook). He'd hoped to see more. Not too much wildlife, other than the usual squirrels.
Val, I think this is a spectacular shot. I really like how stark it is and it seems to me to convey the in-between time between winter and spring really well.
Looks like dye back alas!
ReplyDeleteI want to go there. Did you see any interesting birds or wildlife?

ReplyDeleteI think overcast fits this perfectly. It just wouldn't be the same on a bright, clear day.
ReplyDeleteAll those dead trees add to the charm of the place.
ReplyDeleteyou captured a lot of great reflections
ReplyDeleteWhere are all the geese? I've often seen the skies black with them as they migrate through.

ReplyDeleteJust stunning!
ReplyDeleteReally nice composition.I always love the combination of the taupe grasses with the moody blues of the skies.
ReplyDeleteQuite a stark scene, rather the opposite of what we tend to think of as Easter.
