. . . two hundred thirteen, two hundred fourteen, two hundred fifteen.
These steps, beside an old carriage house (with a being-restored carriage inside) led up to another street, 151 steps away, then, in two more tiers of steps, topped off high above the town of Galena, 215 steps from where we began our ascent.
Going down was much easier...
PS: If I type the labels as, one, two, three, Blogger alphabetizes them into one, three, two. Weird!
Oh my . . . that is a long, long hike up those stairs. Great capture!
ReplyDeleteDid you count them or pay someone to count them for you?? LOL
ReplyDeleteAnd no one interrupted you in your count by asking, "So why are we going up these stairs again?"
ReplyDeleteI've forgotten how picturesque Galena is. Wish I had spent more time there way back when.
Did you spend the time thinking "it's good for me"? I would have had to give myself a pep talk to get up those stairs.
ReplyDeleteWhy has no-one come up with an outdoor escalator?, this would be a perfect spot to put one.
ReplyDeleteI'm already huffing and puffing for you lol Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...and no place to stop halfway if you feel faint... I wouldn't want to turn around because it looks kinda high....
ReplyDeleteMakes my knees hurt! I have vague memories of Galena.
