Another London Icon

The Tower Bridge sprawls across the busy River Thames. This was taken through a bus window (a HUGE reason I don't like bus tours...but of all our view of this bridge, my window seat on the happily-correct side of the bus gave us the best peek...) while moving...I was pretty happy to fire off several shots and get a fairly usable one. Processing done in Topaz Adjust.

  1. That's really funny that a bus tour would have produced the best vantage point! I really like that you used black and white for this. Just right!

  2. Perfect symmetry - and the crane in the far background reinforces it! I'm impressed that you took this from a moving bus. Black and white also masks the busyness, too.

  4. Being an Aussie, we always thought of England as the Old Enemy (Cricket) and I knew London would be boring but really there is no colour at all in this shot, I won't waste my time going there! LOL If you ever come to Australia Val bring another camera, one that takes colour shots. Love it when you find that what you think of as a bad thing turns out good, serendipity.

  8. Great pic! I especially like the fact that you put it in black and white. It almost feels like the picture takes us back in time. Well done.

  11. Funny, my first reaction was "why black and white." Then, I read these comments and went back to the image and said, "ah, of course it should be black & white." It really works.
