Emotions ran high at the Sausage race

Taking a break from London photos to dash up to Miller Park in Milwaukee, to watch the Chicago Cubs take on the Milwaukee Brewers. (Go Cubbies...they won 12-2!)

A tradition at Brewer's games is the 7th-inning Sausage Race, which brought forth many emotions - the grit and determination in the sausages themselves (did I really just write that??) and the joy and amusement on the faces of the crowd.

(I believe the Polish Sausage - number 2 - won this race.) Can you identify the other contestants?

  1. Only in this country can we get joy out of racing sausages! LOL I'm for the sausage in the blue hat! :)

  2. Fun pic. I like the fact that you kept the colour in the foreground and put the background in black and white. Great stuff.

  4. I was also noticing how the crowd is in B&W, but the sausages (in all their glory) remain in color! Very comical!

  5. This is too funny to begin with.. but your processing really brings out the "sausagers."

  9. In addition to just shooting the racing sausages Val, I hope you had a chance to eat the real thing. There is a reason that the park's brats are legendary.

The Cubs caught the Brew Crew at the right time for you. The Thursday before Milwaukee scored 20 runs against Pittsburgh ... and then dropped 3 in a row to the Cubs. I guess they were tired. ;-) Sigh.
