Look right...

At nearly every traffic light in downtown London, reminders were painted into the crosswalks. Because cars drive on a different side of the road than in many other countries, visitors often first look to their LEFT to check for oncoming traffic, when in reality, they should worry about the cars approaching from their right. I quickly came to rely on these reminders to make it safely across busy intersections.

  1. That is so funny!

I bet someone has a shot of a whole gaggle of (North American) tourists standing there and looking left!

  3. Hey, Ron...notice I didn't say they drive on the WRONG side, I said they drive on a DIFFERENT side. Very correct of me, yes?? :-D

  4. I guess it doesn't pay to be 'culturally correct', Val. You STILL get blasted from down under. ;-)

  6. I remember seeing this message on the roads while visiting London. Being Canadian, I have to admit I was grateful for the advice.

  7. When I was in London with my best friend a few years ago, we were baffled by the "mind the gap" signs. This reminds me of that time. Great memories!
