Sandy

Who would think that this long, lovely, sandy sweep of beach is just a few miles from downtown Chicago? Montrose Avenue Beach, one of my childhood playgrounds, looking north from the breakwater.

  3. I knew in my mind that lakes are often enormous, but it didn't really click until I went to Chicago.

  9. The beaches are such a well kept secret it seems. This is such a fine juxtaposition between the curvy unpeopled beach and the busy downtown.
