. . . actually, I'm more of a believer in rock, paper, scissors. Here's a literal take on that theme!
What looks to be a gemstone embedded in the left-most rock is indeed a garnet. When visitors arrive at the ferry docks in Wrangell, Alaska, they are greeted by tables of school-age children who dig and chip garnets from a nearby ledge. Since the garnet is my birthstone, I had no trouble helping to support a local kid's "mining" efforts by bringing home this one. If I remember correctly, I think this set me back about $5 U.S.
What a creative take on the theme and I see that favorite color purple again! Good job at supporting the kid's mining efforts! I love garnets!
ReplyDeleteI just got to thinking, isn't it funny that I know my "cyber" friends favorite color, and I don't even know some of my best friends' favorite colors?? Tells you how much you learn through someoneelses eyes and photographs!
ReplyDeleteChesney - true! Next time I have lunch with friends (although I do know their fave drinks...)I'll ask about their favorite colors! :-D
ReplyDeleteSometimes a literal interpretation is the best way to go! Love the way you've captured the rainbow of color with the stack of paper.
ReplyDeleteMy geologist sister would love this one! Is this another lightbox photo?
ReplyDeleteHi, Heather. Yes, I am making good use of my light box while it's too dreary to be outside. It's a great, easy rainy Saturday project!
ReplyDeleteVery clever composition for this theme. Love the colored paper!!
ReplyDeleteGood one Val and good story. This theme has me stumped short of going to Santa Fe where there's a sculpture that I forget who posted at EV.
ReplyDeleteThis theme is a bit of a stumper - I'm glad you fulfilled it! And a very clever shot too. I love the multi-colored paper...
ReplyDeleteLove the composition and placement of your jewel! Clever interpretation & geat shot!
ReplyDeleteGreat take on this theme. I went to the list and its not on my list. Nicely done.
