Further down the trail, we come upon this crumbling concrete and limestone staircase. From this vantage point, it looks rickety and past its prime. We hiked up the hill another way, and then dared ourselves to climb down these steps. We were surprised to find the staircase very sturdy and serviceable.
I think I'd have to know and really, really want to get to whatever was at the top!! Great photo.
ReplyDeleteIt's pretty, Val, but I would have waited until you came down and pronounced it safe.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great find! Love the weathered look!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a fun challenge - hopefully the view on top was worth the climb!
ReplyDeleteAdventuresome spirits often find surprises, the timid rarely do. Great shot and story.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great workout - run these stairs ten times - I'm out of breath thinking about it! Beautiful image!
ReplyDeleteLooks like it might be safer coming down than going up. I think I actually would try those stairs and not just watch!!
ReplyDeleteLovely lush shot.I think I'd rather climb it than go down, that gravity is so unforgiving once one gets going.
ReplyDeleteI would have to! Too curious not to! Fabulous find!
ReplyDeleteFabulous! Love the angle and all the shadows and textures. Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteLove those steps, Val. Looks like something great must be a the top.
