I've been playing around with some of my photos from our trip out west. This shot, taken from Highway 128 heading into Moab, Utah, shows off the many colors the desert has to offer. I like how the burgundy cliffs contrast with the strong oranges and greens of the desert floor.
I did a little tweaking on the vibrance and contrast in PS Camera Raw. Hope I didn't overdo.
Beautiful. I enjoy how the road just trails off.
ReplyDeleteHi Val,
ReplyDeleteAwesome shot! Love all those colors and the road just meandering through it all. Have a great day!

I like it - I don't think you overdid it.
ReplyDeleteYour processing brought out the colors beautifully. The composition with the road leading to the cliffs is great.
ReplyDeleteThe Mesas are a treat and I can imagine it is "The Painted Desert" which has to be vibrant. I particularly like the little bit of separated Highway off to the right of the Mesa Line. - You gotta enlarge it real big though.
ReplyDeleteSo cool. Love the colors of the southwest, and how your road conforms to the terrain.
ReplyDeleteI take it you entered into Moab from the east, skirting the south boundary of Arches? I have never done this road (having come in from the north and south) but now it is on the to do list. Beautiful!
I know exactly that spot on that road--and the colors ARE that intense and varied. It's something that is almost incomprehensible to the eyes of someone who has spent her life in the lush East.
ReplyDeletegreat scenery, the colors look almost unreal but I've seen similar places as on Gran Canaira last time where it a greenstriped mountain
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting landscape to drive through, love all the colours that you've captured.
ReplyDeleteWowser! You composed this so well to have the road take us through this technicolor scene.
ReplyDeleteI'd love to go there.
