To walk Crystal Cove Beach along Newport Coast in California is to take a trip back in time, where these weathered old cottages still stand. Recently, an organization has begun work to restore these fine old places and return them to their former glory. You can read more about the rescue efforts here.
Hi, Val. It would be fun to stay at one of these cottages! I hope their restoration efforts are successful.
ReplyDeleteThe look of that place spooks me out a little.
ReplyDeleteI bet it won't be a weathered old price once those cottages are revamped! Would be fun to see a before and after interior to see what they had to deal with. Bet these hold lots of memories for some people.
ReplyDeleteI'm glad to know they are going to be restored. There is too much history there to just let them go.
ReplyDeleteI'd love a stay there. I like the muted tones of this shot - matching the run-down condition of these cottages.
ReplyDeleteThe silvery processing works nicely here to soften the weathering.
ReplyDeleteI like this place just the way it is. It has a warm, creepy feeling to it.
ReplyDeleteWhat building materials have they come up with that can withstand the sun, sand and salt from the beach location? Weathered is un understatment don't you think?
ReplyDeletemust be great once renovated. so good that they do so, lots of places often gets ruined in favour of nodern buildnings
ReplyDeleteShows their age! Would like to stay there too!
