Late in our summer trip, we stopped to go bird-stalking and stretch our legs in the Sequoyah National Wildlife Refuge in eastern Oklahoma. We weren't too far into our hike before we came upon this female Summer Tanager, enjoying a bite of lunch. Not sure what kind of insect she's eating, and she didn't invite us to join her.
Thank Heavens.
ReplyDeleteGreat capture!
ReplyDeleteHi Val,
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, love her coloring, she just kind of blends into the background. Nice capture. Have a great day!

It looks like a squid! Good that it was a table for one.
ReplyDeleteWhen you've got something squirmy in your beak it's too hard to worry about manners.
ReplyDeleteWhatever the main course is has very pretty markings.
ReplyDeleteThe early bird gets the...bug...and you were late for breakfast! Fun to see some different birds.
