Ironic?

I agonized for months over whether or not to upgrade to a smart phone, wishing that the iPhone was available through Verizon. YESTERDAY I brought home my new Droid X. Today, here's the skinny, as posted in US Today....

(But no worries, I really love this phone!!!)

  1. Good for you for upgrading. I would love to get a smartphone too, but wish for a pay-as-you-go. (Don't see that happening anytime soon.) By the way, loving how you have your themes listed, and then you highlight as you complete one! Very organized!

  4. Congratulations! I have an iPhone, but once Verizon gets it, I plan on switching carriers. Hope you don't become addicted, like I am!

  6. You'll see that the Droid X is far superior than the iPhone...great choice.....

  8. Irony, yes. However most of the people I know with the Droid are very happy. Enjoy it. In two years there will be another opportunity anyway!

  11. That's Murphy's Law - cellphones have never bothered me as I'm notorious for never answering mine...

  12. Interesting shot, Val. :) You'll enjoy the Droid though. My son has one and he really likes it. I love my iPhone, but I think the Droid might have some additional functionality.

  13. Ironic for sure. That's the thing with technology, it changes at a speed none of us can keep up with. However, I'm sure you'll love your phone. Thanks for listing the themes. It's helpful.

  14. As long as you're happy with the Droid...Technology moves and changes so fast that the instant you have one thing, it's obsolete and there's something else to covet.

  15. I've had one for several months and I absolutely love it!! I've had people stop me and ask me if I like it and tell me their stories. I just read that Steve Jobs is supposed to make an announcement on 1/11/11 that the iPhone will be available on 2/3/11. Enjoy your new toy!!

  16. I agonized over the same thing! Switched from a Blackberry to the Droid X just after Thanksgiving. I love it!

  17. I have a little tip for you, Val. Get one of those waterproof cases that allow you to still use the phone when it's in the case. Those Droids don't like water and they sink like rocks if your kayak tips over. At least that's been the experience of one of the Misses Lorri who has sunk two Droids now and been dropped by her phone insurance carrier!!

  18. I only keep a pay-as-you-go phone in my purse for emergencies but I do sympathize with you! It's just like buying your dream camera just before they announce a newer improved model will be out shortly.
