Jon hung a feeder from the underside of an overhang out our living room. Makes capturing through-the-window-shots, such as this one of a red-breasted nuthatch, a little easier.

ReplyDeleteThe bokeh is perfect for your image. You must be busy polishing the glass on the windows. LOL
Nice capture through the window! Unfortunately, if I put a feeder out, the raccoons and squirrels would get to it before the birds.
ReplyDeleteI am getting where I have a feeder at all ground level windows lol The boys say they are embarrassed because the neighbors are calling me the "Bird Lady" lol
ReplyDeleteI love your capture...I can't believe you guys have birds we don't...you are not that far away...this guy is a beauty!!!
yes isn't it nice having a feeder right outside to watch and do some good photos. the only trouble is the glass....
ReplyDeleteGreat shot and so much detail in his face and feathers.
ReplyDeleteGreat shot of a Red-breasted Nuthatch. It's difficult to get a nice sharp pic of them, because they don't sit still long enough for a good focus.
ReplyDeleteYour bird photos and John's photos are just perfect! Love them all. I need to get out more to get some bird photos. I missed the woodpecker in the tree this AM. And someone said there has been an Owl around too. Would love to get that!
ReplyDeleteJon's bird photos are really pretty too and well shot. I like his iguana shots too. You have inspired me to get more bird shots.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful image.
ReplyDeleteI love seeing birds from other places and appreciate how hard it is to get a good shot,- this one's a beauty.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful detail!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if the birds get as much out of these feeders, as us photographers do?
ReplyDeletePefect focus--it's tough to get a through the window shot without glare.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the link. Nice closeup. I'm impressed you got this through a window. Nicely done.
ReplyDeleteYour bird shots are amazing!
ReplyDeleteYou both are so flighty!
ReplyDeleteGreat shot - especially through a window!
ReplyDeleteThis is a beautiful image, Val. The details are great, and the DOF is perfect. Fabulous lighting and color.
ReplyDeleteHave never seen one of these before! Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bird portrait! Like your depth of focus that really showcases the bird.
ReplyDeleteI am truly enjoying your photos of the birds! I was saying we should put in a bird feeder and my son wanted to know why? When I said for pictures, I just got that look that only a teenage boy can give his mom!
ReplyDeleteJon has some really nice shots!
Nuthatches are great little creepers....we have white and red-breasted here. Love the clarity of this shot!
