Through a window

Jon hung a feeder from the underside of an overhang out our living room. Makes capturing through-the-window-shots, such as this one of a red-breasted nuthatch, a little easier.

Like bird photos? Check out Jon's blog at http://northernillinoisbirder.blogspot.com/. He'd be tickled if you popped in and left a comment.

  1. Checked out Jon`s site, thanks for sharing.

The bokeh is perfect for your image. You must be busy polishing the glass on the windows. LOL

  2. Nice capture through the window! Unfortunately, if I put a feeder out, the raccoons and squirrels would get to it before the birds.

  3. I am getting where I have a feeder at all ground level windows lol The boys say they are embarrassed because the neighbors are calling me the "Bird Lady" lol

I love your capture...I can't believe you guys have birds we don't...you are not that far away...this guy is a beauty!!!

  5. Great shot and so much detail in his face and feathers.

  6. Great shot of a Red-breasted Nuthatch. It's difficult to get a nice sharp pic of them, because they don't sit still long enough for a good focus.

  7. Your bird photos and John's photos are just perfect! Love them all. I need to get out more to get some bird photos. I missed the woodpecker in the tree this AM. And someone said there has been an Owl around too. Would love to get that!

  11. I wonder if the birds get as much out of these feeders, as us photographers do?

  12. Pefect focus--it's tough to get a through the window shot without glare.

  19. I am truly enjoying your photos of the birds! I was saying we should put in a bird feeder and my son wanted to know why? When I said for pictures, I just got that look that only a teenage boy can give his mom!

Jon has some really nice shots!
