Let's get to the point

One detail that amazed me about this snow sculpted polar bar were his pointed claws, made of ice.

Several of you have asked the size of these sculptures. The were carved from solid, packed blocks of snow that were (can't recall exactly) somewhere between 6 and 7 feet tall. This bear was on a block of snow, and its back was probably about 3 feet off the ground. There was more above him...you'll see it tomorrow!

  1. What fun! I'm enjoying your snow sculptures. We've got plenty of snow here in MA to work with - and more on the way today.

  7. I think the polar bear in Sherman's Lagoon comics had a margarita while basking in sand on the beach.

You got the point on this one, didn't you?

  8. Love how you've used the lighting to make it seem like a realistic sun bath for the bear. Wonder how long those claws took...and how many broken nails they had to deal with?
