"Did you remember to bring our shopping list??"

One of the exhibits on the Queen Mary illustrated how much food was laid in for a typical voyage. Not your usual grocery haul!

  1. I guess in those days B&W was the norm!

  2. Interesting grocery list . . . I like the diagonal composition.

  3. Hi Val,
Awesome shot for the theme. I wouldn't want to pay the grocery bill. Have a great day!

  4. I'm excited about 5 tons of bacon! Very unique take on the "groceries" theme

  5. Very interesting! They took as much butter as they did cheese? I wonder how many caskets they carried?

  6. Interesting the way they selectively used pounds and tons. Six tons of fresh fish sounds like an amazing amount, until you realize that there are more than four times as many potatoes.

As an aside, my dad came home from WWII on that ship so I have a special fondness for (nautically speaking) 'her'.

  7. Surely the bar list must be on another board that's twice the size of this one.

  8. I think I need to hire those people to do my grocery shopping (does the shoppers come with cooks?)

  9. As much as I love the idea of that much bacon the hanging birds are my favorite part of this great find. Perfect for the theme.
