I am not a big fan of the whole LensBaby movement - it makes me a little motion sick. Still, this image of the Chicago Auto Show crowd, shot from a 15-foot platform, just cried out for some motion. I used a Radial Blur, set to Zoom, to achieve this effect. What do you think?
I agree the radial zoom makes the crowd look all the more active. Nice shot.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me feel the hustle and bustle of the crowd...perfect idea for this shot!
ReplyDeleteIt's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad world, no wait that was another movie.
ReplyDeleteFish eye makes me dizzy, but I like the effect on the crowd
ReplyDeleteCertainly puts a specific focus on a busy scene.
ReplyDeleteI do like the crowd scene but my eyes tell me not to look for too long, the image goes slightly ooozy after a while.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of the Lensbaby either, and the effect you achieved with radial blur replicated the motion sickness effect!
ReplyDeleteOne has to enlarge the photo to get a good sense of that the motion blur does--it adds a hectiv feeling to the crowd.
ReplyDeleteI prefer looking at those crowded places from a distant so this is perfect for me ;-)
ReplyDeleteCrowds make me queasy so this is perfect. I'm a Lensbaby fan but it gives a different blur than PS can.
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say, I love blur! ;-) This was a good idea to give it a clear focal point....
