Ahoy, maties!

You might not expect to find a wealth of nautical themes high in the Rocky Mountains, but these shrink-wrapped sailing vessels belie their location. The Dillon Marina, where these are housed, is perhaps highest in the nation. In the background is Peak One, the beginning of the Ten-Mile Range.

  1. Very nice processing and composition for the shrink wrap boats. I would not expect to see this sight so high in the mountains.

  2. How odd! You are right, I would not to expect to see anything nautical there.

  4. That lake and marina (especially in the summer time) is beautifully nestled in the mountains...gorgeous! It is beautiful in the winter time too!

  5. I think I remember a post from here in a past year. Odd to think of sailboats in the mountains indeed.

  6. It's always amazed me when we've been out west to see bog boats being hauled around WAY far away from the ocean only to find a huge lake sittig there in the middle of a what would seem to be arid land.

  8. Weird place to get a nautical theme! I guess these boats won't be sailing for a few months.
