Arc the 'erald, tires sing

Standing on the pedestrian Navajo Bridge, which crosses the Colorado River just outside of Page, Arizona, one gets a great view of the newer, auto bridge as its span arcs over the water.

For an interesting view of both bridges, and little history, read here.

  1. This is sooooo cool, love how it is built right into the canyon rocks...this has to be enlarged to enjoy it's full beauty...nice arc Val!

  2. I hate to think of the height, it makes me queasy. Great shot though, the detail is amazing.

  4. That is quite an amazing structure. It actually looks a bit like it's floating in midair. Great arc shot!

  5. The picture i a beautiful mystery. It looks like the bridge runs straight into the rock.

  6. Another great image. It looks like you are driving thru the rocks. I also agree with Terri - I don't think I could have gone across that one -- my fear of heights is not good.

  7. The mind boggles at the job they would have had to do to construct that bridge, just so that you could get your great Arc Shot.

  8. What an interesting juxtaposition between the man-made and nature. It's almost creepy the way it's perched there in the notch in the wall - I would worry that something would give way and it would fall. But it's a nice arc shot and you did a great job keeping the roadway paralell to the "horizon" line so it doesn't distract.
