While we were in northern Arizona, we were lucky enough to see a bobcat dash across the road in front of our car. Actually, it wasn't dashing so much as loping, but neither of us had a camera close enough at hand to get a shot.
Fast forward a week, and we are at the Sonoran Desert Museum in Tucson. It's kind of a living zoo, with plants, animals, and birds native to the Sonoran Desert region. Here, I had the opportunity to get my bobcat picture.

He's beautiful. Looks like he was posing just for you too. Perfect shot.
ReplyDeleteThese cats always amaze me....I know they are dangerous, but boy do they look like a common house cat that you want to cuddle with! Beautiful shot, I love how he was staring you down! :)
ReplyDeleteYikes ... er, 'nice kitty'. That's a great shot Val ... clear enough that it makes me want to sneeze.
ReplyDeleteHe did pose, didn't he! Looks like you picked the right camera settings because the cat stands out from the background so nicely.
ReplyDeleteEvery time we see these on Animal Planet I point them out to My Snow and tell her that is how real cats make a living, pulling down Bison and Elk etc, she normally just rolls over, I don't think she believes me.
ReplyDeleteNice pose! A few years ago I got a shot of one dragging a jackrabbit he'd killed, and even with the large rabbit, he was moving quickly. They don't pose too often!
ReplyDeleteVery expressive shot. You got him right at the perfect moment. Good thing you have a good zoom because he doesn't look too friendly!!
ReplyDeleteYou really did make it pop from the background, so well done.
ReplyDeleteI wrote a comment on this fabulous picture, but I don't guess that it got posted. I am having trouble going from Wordpress back to Blogger to comment. It is a wonderful photo, Val. Great detail in his fur and his eyes are scary.
ReplyDeleteHe was posing for you.. great shot..
ReplyDeleteI like the way he's staring straight into the lens - it gives the shot a nice intensity.
